Classes Update

Monday 24th January | Update

Following the government announcement to remove the majority of COVID-19 restrictions, we will now work with all of our pool operators on an individual basis and will keep you informed of updates at the pool you swim at.

With no requirement for social distancing our teachers will be teaching in the pool if not already doing so, and this will happen on a phased basis.

Your safety, as well as the safety of our staff is and always will be our number one priority. As we have done throughout the pandemic, we continue to work with our National Governing Bodies and pool providers to assess the situation for our classes.

Once again, we’d like to thank you for your continued loyalty and support. Your local office will be in touch as soon as there are any changes to your classes. If you have any questions about your venue and classes our small teams will come back to them all as soon as we can.

Thank you.

FAQs

  • Yes, please ensure that you wear a face mask when entering the venue until you are getting into the pool. This includes all areas of the leisure facility including changing rooms unless medically exempt.

  • The rule around spectators will be based on an individual pool basis and your local office will inform you of specific updates.

  • Yes photoshoots will be resuming during 2022! We need a little time to plan the logistics and of course, teachers need time to prepare babies for the underwater photoshoot so your local office will be in touch with the plan in your area.

  • Please come to the pool 'beach ready' so you can enter and exit the premises as quickly and efficiently as possible. We advise bringing your own changing mat from home so you are putting your little one down on your own mat.

    In addition you will need:

    • Happy Nappy™ – You will need one of these to swim with us and no other nappy will do. The Happy Nappy is tested and approved, the only one that can guarantee against leakages. You don't want to be the party pooper of your lesson (literally!). When you buy your Happy Nappy from us, we'll check the fit in your first lesson. Just keep the tags on. That way we can swap it if the size isn't perfect. All our little ones must wear the double nappy system in order to swim – this keeps our pools clean
    •  Reusable or paper swim nappy – this goes underneath the Happy Nappy as part of the double nappy system
    •  Towel – one for your little one and one for you.
    •  Changing mat – our Twinkle Twinkle mat is perfect and means you can change your little one easily, wherever you are.
    •  Warm hat – little heads get cold easily after swimming.
    •  Swimming costume/shorts for you – could be a little embarrassing otherwise!
    • One bag only – try to only bring essentials with you to your lessons.
    • Snacks and a drink for on the way home – swimming is great for building an appetite. But please remember to leave the venue before you tuck into these.

  • We take the safety and hygiene of our lesson environments very seriously.

We lead the way in the baby swimming industry, having actually written the official UK standards for the operation of baby and toddler swim schools. These standards promote best industry practice with specific reference to pool water treatment, the general cleanliness of the pool environment and pool water temperatures.

Now more than ever with the arrival of Covid, these standards are even more relevant and necessary. We have taken the guidance from all kinds of sources, the WHO, the Canadian and Ontario governments, other provinces, and of course the highest Water Babies standards. We are continuing to work with, as we always have, each of our pool operators to continually coordinate and recommend health and safety measures.

We are keeping everyone safe with our 4 – point action plan by:

    - Organising all our operations to screen and protect our swimmers from exposure

    - Frequent and regular testing of pool water quality

    - Being in full compliance of pool water pH and disinfectant levels

    - Structured cleaning regime of all areas used by the public including change room , the pool environment and all teaching equipment

We understand that a Water Babies lesson is not just about the pool, it's about the entire experience. It's our Overriding purpose to make your experience as safe and enjoyable as possible.

  • Your local office will be more than happy to help answer any additional questions that you might have. The best way to do this is to reach out by email but please be patient with them at this time as they try to get back to everyone as quickly as they can.

Keep checking back to our FAQ’s as these will develop as we hear more from the Government guidance and our swimming national governing bodies.
